![]() | Special Needs Emergency Response Data Sheet
About the program:This initiative began is in partnership between the Hillsborough Police Department and Care to Share Support Network, Inc. The objective of this project is to assist emergency response personnel within our community with pertinent information that can assist in the event of an emergency pertaining to your child who has special needs. The Special Needs Emergency Response Data Sheet will allow parents to identify personalized information pertaining to their child so that law enforcement can be more informed on how to interact with your child. How we got started:Chief Paul Kaminsky of the Hillsborough Police Department first brought the idea of this initiative to his department in December of 2007 after he attended a training session lead by Dennis Debbaudt, a Florida based law enforcement trainer, author and training video producer specializing in autism spectrum issues (www.autismriskmanagement.com). Shortly after, Chief Kaminsky and Officer Christopher Weckenman designed their version of the Special Needs Emergency Response Data Sheet and called upon Tina Rear of Care to Share Support Network, Inc. to help fine tune the form. We are proud to say that on January 5, 2008 the Special Needs Emergency Response Data Sheet was launched at Care to Share’s first fundraiser, a day of fun with Mr. Ray and friends held at Saint Joseph’s Church in Hillsborough. Since that time, we have continued to try to reach all the families in Hillsborough Township who have children with special needs. Participating townships:
